What is Hypnosis
How does hypnosis work? Our minds work on
two levels - the conscious and the subconscious. We make
decisions, think and act with our conscious mind. The
subconscious mind controls our habits and our emotions. In
hypnosis we can communicate directly with the subconscious mind.
This is why it is so quick and easy to change habits of a
lifetime with hypnosis.
Hypnosis is not sleep
However it is a deep form of relaxation that you can be guided into.
While in hypnosis you will have an awareness of what is happening,
and at the end of the session it is likely you will recall what has
happened.
Can everyone be hypnotised?
Generally speaking everyone of normal intelligence (with an IQ above
70) can be hypnotised. In fact, every time you daydream you are in a
form of hypnosis.
Hypnosis is completely safe It is
similar to meditation, visualisation or daydreaming. You are
aware and in control at every moment and can terminate the
session at any time. It is impossible for you to get "stuck" in
a state of hypnosis, and you cannot be made to do something that
is against your will.
